ACE Board Meeting Minutes

January 6, 2011 Special ACE board meeting
Purpose: Interview candidates for the ACE director position

ACE board members present were: Al Sipes, Josh Middleton, Brenda Koch, Andy Begger, Mark Brajcich, Jennifer Hickok, and Tim Dolphay.
Guests present were: Harold Olson.  Jerry Scott was also present for the meeting.

Chairman Al Sipes called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.
Interview questions were distributed to all present, with board members taking turns asking the questions to the candidates.

Al said that Jim Staab called stating he was ill, but also that he no longer wished to be considered for the position.

The ACE board interviewed Andrea Fischer and Paige Fenton Hughes starting at 9:45 A.M.

Upon completion of the interviews Brenda moved to hire Andrea Fischer a part time ACE director for the 2011 - 2012 school year.  Andy seconded the motion which carried 7 - 0.

Tim expressed concerns of having a part time director.  Al stated that the position would depend on the needs of the member schools as well as the funding.  Mark said that the director could be part time with the ability to contract with schools for further services.  He suggested that any contracts be approved by ACE at the rate of $45 per hour with $35 going to the director and $10 going to ACE.  Brenda spoke in favor of this model saying that it would fit the needs of ACE and the schools that wished contracted services. Some discussion took place as to the contract details and office location with the board deciding to let Al and Mark meet with Andrea to work out the contract details and bring back their recommendation to the January 26 ACE board meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
